Manhattan Family Guide to Private Schools and Selective Public Schools, 6th Edition, by Victoria Goldman

This is the bible for families applying to New York City’s private schools. Now in its 6th edition, the perennially popular and consistently updated Manhattan Family Guide has listings for 80 elementary and high schools, as well as information on admissions procedures, programs, diversity, school size, staff, tuition, and scholarships. Essential.

A useful secondary book to the Manhattan Family Guide. Worth a look for parents who are truly starting from square one.
