Noah S.

Noah graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from West Point. He next studied in the Space Propulsion Laboratory at MIT, receiving a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics. His work to design and test plasma thrusters for nano-satellites forms the basis of a currently pending patent.

Phil graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 2020 as a Distinguished Graduate, with a BS in Physics. He was then selected to attend pilot training, but as a first assignment he is earning a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from MIT, where he works on improving ion-trapping systems for quantum computing.

Haley V.

Haley went to Bryn Mawr College, double majoring in Mathematics and Chemistry and completing an AB/MA degree in Chemistry. She was recognized as a 2018 Barry Goldwater Scholar for her efforts in and out of the laboratory. Her dual passions for biophysical and chemical pathogens research led her to the Harvard-MIT MD/PhD program, where she is currently a NIH-funded MSTP student in the Health Sciences and Technology track.

Hamzah

Hamzah is a PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin in the Aerospace Engineering department. His interests span distributed control and planning, game theory, robot safety, and autonomous vehicles.

Jadyn is a Physics PhD student at Stanford University. Previously, he earned his MA in Education and BS in Physics from Villanova University.

Eddy Y.

Eddy graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and a minor in Marketing/Psychology. Isa designed an independent major at Williams College titled “Critical Health Studies,” combining philosophy, sociology, and anthropology with the goal of complementing her science-oriented pre-medical education with a humanist and critical exploration of health and medicine. After graduating with Highest Honors, she is now an entering MD-PhD student at the University of Michigan where she will complete her doctoral work in sociocultural anthropology.

Valerie A.

Valerie completed her BS in Mechanical Engineering at MIT. She then completed her MS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. She is now a mechanical engineer in the nuclear power industry.

Nadja graduated from The Dalton School early, moving on to earn her BA in Psychology at Yale University, cum laude. Nadja was recently selected as a Fulbright Scholar and will serve in Kenya as an English teacher for high school and university students.

Will is now attending Stanford’s Graduate School of Business for his PhD, studying applications of machine learning, algorithms, and network science to problems in business. He previously double majored in computer science and mathematics at Caltech.

Joseph is a Cyber Warfare Officer in the United States Army. In 2023, he graduated from Harvard University, earning his MS in Data Science as a member of the Draper Scholars Program. Sasha

Sasha earned her BS in Physics and Mathematics from MIT and her PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from MIT. Her PhD research focused on engineering new energy-efficient magnetic nanomaterials. While at MIT, she completed two research internships in France, worked as a visiting scientist in a German physics institute, and pioneered a new physics education program in Chile.

Iggy

Iggy majored in Mathematical Sciences at West Point. He now studies machine learning and applied mathematical techniques at MIT, working at the MIT Lincoln Laboratory to develop algorithms that predict the impact of cyber-attacks on national defense systems.

Robert holds a BSc in Physics from Jacobs University and a PhD in Physics from Harvard University. For his work as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard, Robert won the Harvard University Physics Department’s White Prize for excellence in teaching introductory physics

Nic found graduated from Princeton University in 2018 with a degree in Molecular Biology and Creative Writing, cum laude. Then, Nic completed a research year at Princeton Neuroscience Institute prior to starting at Harvard Medical School, where they are currently an MD candidate. Katherine graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a major in Computer Science modified with Film and Media Studies and a minor in Theater - a mouthful! Upon graduation, she accepted a role as Engineering Analyst at Accenture.

Emily V.

Emily is a PhD candidate at Harvard University in the Department of Human Evolutionary Biology. Currently, she is being funded by the National Science Foundation to research conditions in which the gut microbiome may behave in a way that is adaptive to the host. Ravi graduated from Georgia Tech with a BS in Management. He then was accepted to Harvard Business School’s 2+2 program. He spent three years as a healthcare investor and obtained the CFA designation before matriculating at HBS. He’s since worked for Khan Academy, Flexport, and Chime – the most recent of which he was Lead Data Scientist & Data Engineer. Ravi currently works for Anduril, a defense company.

Katie C.

Katie graduated summa cum laude from the University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular & Cellular Biology and minors in Spanish and Education. Katie is now attending the Harvard Graduate School of Education to learn about the intricate and dynamic nature of being an educator in today’s complex society, with the intention to teach high school science post-graduation.

Tarika graduated with dual degrees in Philosophy and Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. She then spent a year as a research fellow at the Mayo Clinic Biomedical Ethics Research Program in Rochester, Minnesota before moving to Boston to pursue her MD at Harvard Medical School.

Emilija has a BA in Sociology from Queen’s University, and three Montessori MACTE teaching certifications from the Toronto Montessori Institute for children ages 2.5 through 12. Emilija completed an MA in International Studies in Education at the University of Birmingham, and an M.Ed in Educational Leadership, Organization and Entrepreneurship at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Charles Z.

Charles majored in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with a minor in Philosophy. After graduating, he worked for a few months as a software engineer at Amazon before he began as a post-baccalaureate researcher at Harvard University.

Pelin

Pelin, originally from Istanbul, is currently a PhD student at Boston University in the Educational Studies Program, specializing in Math Education. Her research interests include designing math curricula that instill an affection for mathematics, increasing accessibility to productive struggle, promoting culturally responsive teaching, and addressing equity issues in math education.

Haaris

Haaris attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, earning both a Stamps President’s Scholarship (full ride merit award for top 1% of incoming class) and a National Merit Scholarship. He is now completing a Master of Research in Bioengineering at Imperial College London, where he is a Marshall Scholar.

Talia

At MIT, Talia was an avid math major and minored in computer science, graduating with a perfect GPA and Phi Beta Kappa. She is now working on her PhD in Mathematics at Stanford University and is sponsored by a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

Lizzie graduated from Ohio State with a BS in Biology (magna cum laude) and high school with honors simultaneously at the age of 18 in 2022. She is now a first year MD-PhD student at UCSF.

Antoine

Antoine holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a BS in Business from The College at Brockport—State University of New York . During his time at Brockport, Antoine excelled as a dual-sport athlete, competing in football and track and field. He trained for the 2016 Olympics and ranked in the top 16 nationally for shot put.

Gus B.

In just seven semesters at the University of Pennsylvania, Gus earned both a bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physics. Now a PhD candidate in Astronomy & Astrophysics at Harvard University, he uses computer simulations to uncover how the Milky Way evolved into the galaxy it is today.

Hakim

Hakim attended Boston University, earning his BA in Mathematics, with minors in Philosophy and Spanish. Before continuing to graduate school, Hakim served as an admissions officer and research analyst at MIT, where he worked to recruit, select, and mentor high-achieving STEM students from around the world. Eventually, Hakim went on to earn his MA and PhD in Mathematics at George Washington University, with a focus in logic and computability theory.

Ayelet majored in physics at Yale, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Currently a Marshall Scholar, Ayelet is studying the intersection of synthetic biology and AI at Imperial College London.

Jackson attended Harvard College, where he studied Applied Mathematics with a secondary concentration in Global Health and Health policy (cum laude). David earned degrees in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Virginia, graduating summa cum laude. He co-authored a research paper featured at the IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy but more recently works as a software engineer on a generative AI team at Amazon.

Michael received his bachelor’s degree from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) with a 4.0 GPA, majoring in Physics and minoring in Aerospace Engineering. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Physics at Caltech.

Josh B.

Josh earned a degree in Statistics with a minor in Pure Math at UC Berkeley. After graduating, he began working in the insurance industry, where he applies probability theory in his day-to-day work.

Carly graduated magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, with a dual degree in American Culture Studies and Spanish. After teaching Spanish and Geometry with Teach for America, Carly is now an Investigative Analyst at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.

As a full time teacher for 10 years, Ben has taught 7th grade Math, Visual Arts, Theatre, Music, Geometry, and Algebras 1 and 2. He previously owned and operated his own puppet theatre, Sassafrass Junction.

Damilola

Damilola graduated as the salutatorian of her high school class of 600 students before earning her BS in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, where she researched iron-oxidizing bacteria for mining applications. She then earned an MS in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Virginia, completing her master’s thesis on phase field modeling of the solidification of high-temperature alloys during additive manufacturing. Currently, she is a PhD candidate and Department of Defense (DoD) National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, where she studies the gelation and fracture mechanics of 3D-printable hydrogel composites.

Andrewc

Andrew attended Columbia University, graduating summa cum laude with a major in Chemical Engineering and minors in Biomedical Engineering and Applied Mathematics. They are now pursuing their PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University, where they investigate the mechanics of embryonic development using fruit fly embryos as a model system.

Ben holds a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics, as well as an MEng in Computer Science from MIT. Since graduating, Ben has worked as a Software Engineer at Google and as the research engineering lead for MIT/IBM joint project in Bayesian artificial intelligence.
